Listen to Sophie, Louise and Renee play the theme from Chariots of Fire. The whole class is learning this piece and we’ll be performing it in our end of year concert which will have an Olympic theme!
Well done girls for doing so well after just two lessons!
Our science theme this term is Keeping Healthy. This week we have been learning about the structure of the heart and how to keep it healthy through a balanced diet and regular exercise. We have also looked at the effects of movement on our pulse rate.
Play the game below to find out more about keeping our heart healthy.

This week class 2 have been weighing and measuring in maths. They have been developing their skills to read from scales with different intervals. To consolidate their learning we got baking and make our own bread, fruit and nut flapjacks and banana muffins. The children all weighed and measured their own ingredients and followed the recipes brilliantly. Take a look at the photos, the proof of the pudding is in the eating!!!!

Listen to Class 2 play an accompaniment on the glokenspiels and sing in two part harmony!
We have been working really hard creating our own animations (in the style of Wallace and Gromit). We have produced storyboards, have painted scenery and have sculpted our characters. Take a look at some of our hard work.

It has certainly been a busy half term.
Class two have been reading books by Anthony Browne in literacy and have enjoyed learning about the character Willy. In ICT the children have continued this work by creating another adventure for Willy by using animation in the style of Wallace and Gromit! They have created some wonderful models and scenery for their animations and are looking forward to filming their animations after the half term break.
In maths the children have learnt a variety of new skills and calculation strategies. In science we have been looking at Keeping Healthy and the children enjoyed dedicating a whole day to investigating this topic.
In PE the class have been learning tactics in Tag rugby and have been exploring the apparatus in gymnastics.
This is just a taste of what the children have been doing this half term, take a look at the comments to see what the children’s highlights have been!
